Roy Wiley is a highly experienced public relations executive with an in-depth understanding of media needs and expectations. He brings extensive media relations experience to the corrections field.
He most recently served as manager of external communications for Navistar International Corporation where he served as the company’s spokesperson, responsible for external corporate communications for the company, including media relations, news releases, and financial communications, involving the annual report and annual meeting.
Prior to Navistar, Roy was managing director of Hill and Knowlton Chicago, IL. While at Hill and Knowlton, he led successful public education and media campaigns in the corrections field, including for the American Correctional Association, International Association of Community Corrections Association and for the states of Illinois, Tennessee, Hawaii, and Kentucky. Roy also served as general manager for the Chicago Office of Ogilvy and Mather Public Relations and was senior vice president of the Financial Relations Board, Inc.
Before his career in public relations, Wiley was a reporter and editor for the Chicago Sun-Times. During his 16-year tenure, he served as automotive editor, marketing and stock market columnist and assistant financial editor. He later served as press secretary for an Illinois gubernatorial candidate and a consultant to the Mayor of the City of Chicago.
